Republicans Prepare for Fascist Attack on Democracy
On May 30 a New York court convicted Trump on 34 counts of falsifying financial records to conceal an extra-marital sexual relationship. Trump responded by physically threatening the judge, the jurors, and President Biden who he accuses of conspiring to convict him. Trump’s bluster is not idle chatter, he is collaborating with a violent fascist movement that is rebuilding its numbers after the January 6 failed coup. Trump is clear, if he loses the November election, he will again use violence to destroy American democracy. The Republican Party and the fascist gangs support this plan.

Corporate Democrats Help Fascism Develop
The Democrats advertise their party as anti-fascist. By going along with fascist thinking and refusing to attack it, they have put the country on the road to fascism. Fascism needs war, and the Biden administration has entangled the U.S. in two major wars in Ukraine and Gaza and has approved attacking Russia with U.S.-made weapons. Under fascism, the state becomes the economic protector of the largest banks and corporations. During the 2007 – 2009 financial meltdown, a Democratic administration bailed out the banks at the expense of the nation’s homeowners. Fascism suppresses political dissent, and the Biden administration instructed campus administrators to silence students protesting the war on Gaza.

Only a United Working Class can Defeat Fascism
Both the Republican and Democratic Parties are leading the country toward fascism. The only force capable of stopping them is the working class. The working class, those of us who must work to survive, is the majority. We can use the existing institutions and elections to unite our class to first defeat fascism, and then begin the fight for political power. Only with political power can we get all the things we must have to survive and grow: housing, health care, a clean environment, jobs with dignity, freedom to be who we are, and a future for our children.
The Future is in All of Our Hands.
Power to the Working Class !
Victory cannot be won without class unity based on exposure and rejection of the white supremacy and hetero-patriarchy so deeply rooted in the structure of the American economy, politics, and history. In the practical struggle, people are uniting from below. The growing equality of misery is forming them into a social force. We rely on this developing practical unity to build conscious political understanding. Victory cannot be won until we gain the political power necessary to defeat fascism and organize the cooperative society we need. (LRNA Program)
