Video of the  September 10th. Event

 A conversation with abolition leaders

across the Country

Hosted by the League of Revolutionaries

for a New America

Thank you for viewing the September 10th video program Every City Is Stop Cop City, where abolitionist revolutionaries spoke to our deepest questions and concerns, featuring

  • Mekko Chebon Kernell, Seminole/Mvskoke Traditional Practitioner, Southeastern Indigenous Rematriation

  • Matthew Johnson, interim director of Beloved Community/Atlanta

  • Asha Edwards, No Cop Academy/Chicago

Attached here is the recording! In the discussion we explored:

How is “Stop Cop City” one battle in the larger war, the larger fight for abolition – defending our joy, bonding together and expanding our agency?

What is the way forward for the abolitionist movement as state violence intensifies in Atlanta against Stop Cop City leaders and activists?

How is the struggle to save the Weelaunee Forest one against rising fascism, as well as for the creation/restoration of a society free from the rule of private property?

A recent article in the League’s paper, Rally!, called Stop Cop City: a Climate Catalyst also looks into questions of strategy and tactics in these revolutionary times. Please check it out and share!

We are planning a follow-up virtual program that will be a facilitated conversation with all participants focusing on whatever thoughts, questions, and ideas you wish to share on this movement and beyond. We will keep you posted!

Let us know what you thought if you were able to attend. The evaluation form is quick, linked here, and will help the movement go forward.

And, please also stay alert! November 10-13, the movement has called for a mass peaceful action at the construction site in Atlanta, called Block Cop City. The movement is gathering in Atlanta to bring new voices of dissent to the struggle to prevent further construction of Cop City, what would be the largest militarized police training facility in the Americas — second only to Brazil!

Again, don’t miss and please share! This program is brought to you by the League of Revolutionaries for a New America, which joins other revolutionaries who challenge the ruling class on the immorality of its ruthless devastation of the earth + life.

The League of Revolutionaries for a New America joins other revolutionaries who challenge the ruling class on the immorality of its ruthless devastation of the earth + life. We are a multiracial + multigenerational + multigender working class organization dedicated to revolutionary education + struggle. We trace injustice to the capitalist system and seek to show how society’s problems can be solved when it is reorganized along cooperative lines. Society must be reorganized so that the abundance made possible by science + technology benefits all – a society that puts humanity + nature above profits.
