Elections: Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman Purged
Cori Bush & Jamaal Bowman Purged
by Corporate Interests
Cori Bush, Congress Person from St Louis, is a leading fighter in our struggle for housing, education, health care, peace and racial justice. She co-signed a “Cease Fire Now” proposal to Congress two weeks after Israel began its Gaza genocide.
AIPAC attacked Cori Bush. The American Israel Political Action Committee is pro-war, corporate-funded and spent $9 million to defeat Cori Bush in the August 6 Democratic primary.1
Jamaal Bowman, a Congressperson from New York State criticized Israel’s genocide in Gaza. He is a leading fighter for peace and justice.
AIPAC attacked Jamaal Bowman. AIPAC money and influence was used to engineer his June 25 primary defeat.
AIPAC attacks anyone who supports peace, justice and equality. AIPAC targets people that opposes U.S. support for Israeli genocide. But its objective is to protect corporate control of the Democratic Party.
Hilary Clinton fights for Corporate Agenda. Hilary Clinton joined with AIPAC in attacking Jaamal Bowman. She campaigned against Bowman saying that his opponent would “fight for President Biden’s agenda.”2 That agenda is being passed from Biden to Harris/Walz, and will see at the Convention whether Harris/Walz ticket will break with genocide.3 There can be no peace in the middle east, nor in the world, where Israel’s genocide is supported by the United States government.
Hilary Clinton to speak at Democratic Party Convention. Hilary Clinton, Barak Obama and other corporate democrats will deliver the AIPAC and corporate agenda at the convention. An agenda that protects private property and increases profits. Corporations fund both the Republican and Democratic parties to maintain the status quo, a system of war and destruction, unaffordable housing and homelessness, deteriorating health care and education, climate change and fossil fueled disaster.4
Cori Bush will not speak at the Convention, but she has already warned AIPAC and Corporate Democrats:
“And as much as I love my job, all they did was radicalize me, and now they should be afraid…. They’re about to see this other Cori, this other side…… And let me say this: AIPAC, I’m coming to tear your kingdom down! And let me put all these corporations on notice – I’m coming after you, but I’m not coming by myself.”5
We all need to have Cori’s back: Fighters for justice and peace know that this challenge is essential. The working class needs a political party to work for what science and technology have made possible and necessary: a peaceful, just, and sustainable world.
The League Program states that “Our country and the world stand at a crossroads. Humanity has the potential for economic security and abundance. A community of the people, by the people, and for the people, where children can grow in peace, is possible as never before. Or–if we do nothing—we face increasingly unlivable conditions caused by private ownership of the wealth that human labor has created.“6
