A GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD: On July 1, 2024, the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) gave the President “absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct within the exclusive sphere of constitutional authority.”1 With this ruling SCOTUS moved the US toward a corporate dictatorship where presidential authority is unbound from criminal law. The President can now use this power to sustain his or her term in office, thereby denying office to a democratically elected candidate. Sound familiar?
We are Pissed Off: Here is an example of the outrage that has appeared on Social Media.
“So, a Rotten Supreme Court has made the President a King”…. “and of course that’s disgusting” …. “We are being frog-marched into corporate dictatorship – fascist control” ….” we should take note of this moment and evaluate our course of action forward”….”and I will vote to prevent it”
Many more statements such as this are spreading throughout the internet.
SCOTUS is Making Project 2025 a Reality: This ruling is a mortal threat to democratic government. It accomplishes a core element of Project 2025, a well-crafted plan to create a corporate dictatorship that benefits the wealthy at the expense of the many.
What Should Biden Do? President Biden could turn this same authority against the attack on democracy, for example, he could use the new power to remove and replace the 6 justices who wrote the immunity decision. Taking this course of action would help to alert the people to the growing threat of corporate dictatorship. Unfortunately, Biden has taken a more passive stance and is content to hurl insults at Trump while defending his own fitness for office. This is not enough!
What We All Must Do: The presidential immunity ruling proves that the billionaire ruling class is moving to protect its wealth, and privileges using radical political means. We, the working class, are the majority and need to form our leadership to conquer state power and then transform society towards that which is technologically and scientifically feasible: a new world where everyone enjoys a peaceful, sustainable future.
