Project 2025 and the Dangers Ahead

On June 13, The Supreme Court rejected a challenge from anti-abortion groups to restrict access to the abortion pill mifepristone. A victory in the battle to protect and expand women’s rights, but this is not the time to celebrate. Instead of ending the effort to ban mifepristone, the Supreme Court left the door open for future challenges and told the anti-abortion forces how to win the next time. Supreme Court & Abortion Pill.  The attempt to stop the distribution of mifepristone is one part of a sustained assault on women’s right to an abortion, and much more. 

The Anti-Abortion Movement and Religion: The media tells us that the antiabortion movement is composed of religious “fanatics”. While many of the movement’s foot soldiers are motivated by religious beliefs, pro-fascist forces are the real leaders. Not because they care for “unborn children”, but because they are using the antiabortion movement to attack democracy and social justice.

The Supreme Court, Abortion Pill, and Project 2025: The fascists only lost a small battle in a war for political power. Their plan is spelled out in Project 2025, a fascist playbook on how to abolish public health, public schools, corporate accountability, and our ability to protect human rights and the environment.

Project 2025 and the FDA: A major goal of Project 2025 is to destroy government power to control corporations. The attack on mifepristone was an attempt to weaken the FDA’s ability to regulate the food and drugs used in America. They lost the battle but not the war.

The Danger Ahead: While the media has focused on the abortion pill case, the Supreme Court will soon decide the fate of the Chevron deference, a rule that permits the FDA and other government agencies to use science, not corporate greed, to regulate our economy and environment. Following the Project 2025 playbook, the fascists are trying to eliminate the Chevron deference and open the door to the uncontrolled rape of our planet and our lives.

The Battle is Now Joined: The corrupt and pro-fascist Supreme Court is helping institute the Project 2025 playbook. We are the only force that can stop them. We are the working class, the vast majority of who must work to survive. We oppose War, and Demand Peace, and Justice for All. We all are the future and what we do will determine the fate of America and the world. Now is the time to unite in the struggle for justice, equality, and peace.
