Gov. Abbot supports Fascist Terror
On May 16, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued a full pardon for Daniel Perry. Perry was convicted in 2023 for the murder of Garrett Foster at a 2020 BLM rally against police violence and racial injustice. Perry was serving a 25-year sentence.1
Perry was gunning for BLM supporters
Perry, who is white, was working as an Uber driver when he drove into a BLM demonstration and shot Foster, a white Air Force veteran. This was no accident. In the weeks leading up to the murder, Perry sent racist messages about protesters, shared white supremacist memes and talked about how he “might have to kill a few people”. Foster’s murder was one of over 25 killings during political protests over the police killing of George Floyd.1,2
Abbott justified the murder using the “Stand Your Ground” laws Stand Your Ground laws are a “stay-out-of-jail” card for vigilantes.

Abbot is taking a page from the Fascist Playbook: Support Vigilante Terror
In the struggle for political power, the pro-fascist state employs both legal and extra-legal violence. It uses and protects gangs like the Proud Boys and individuals like Daniel Perry allowing them to terrorize individuals, groups, demonstrations, and communities. Once the uproar against right-wing fascist violence reaches a peak, the state steps to “clean it up” and then takes over. Like UCLA, where a gang of fascist thugs attacked a peaceful Pro-Palestinian encampment, administrators declared a violent situation and the state sent in police to beat and arrest demonstrators and destroy the encampment.
Democratic Party Convention: Stand up for freedom and justice!
The Biden administration and the Democratic Party have not said a word about the murder of Garrett Foster and Abbot’s pardoning of Daniel Perry. They have not raised an alarm about the increasing fascist attacks and the state support for this terror. Corporate Democrats are content to stand aside and allow the fascist forces to grow. We all need to bring this truth to the Democratic Party Convention in August. How can we stop fascism at home if our head of state is complicit with its development?
We are witnessing the attempt to move from democracy to fascism
Bourgeois democracy is bribery, corruption and fraud, backed up by violence and terror. Fascism is violence and terror, backed up by bribery, corruption, and fraud.
