AID WORKERS MURDERED
BIDEN CRIES, SENDS BOMBS
VOTERS DEMAND A CEASEFIRE
On April 1, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) attacked a World Central Kitchen convoy murdering 7 humanitarian aid workers. President Biden was “outraged and heartbroken”. He mourns the death of aid workers working to avoid famine and death in Gaza but ignores the Israeli food embargo that is causing the famine. He said nothing about the 32,000 Palestinians murdered by the IDF, nothing about the destruction of the al Shifa Hospital.
Biden also did not talk about the transfer of 1,800 MK84 2,000-pound bombs and 500 MK82 500-pound bombs to the IDF. Biden authorized the bomb shipment the same day that Israel assassinated the World Central Kitchen people using US-supplied arms.*
On April 2, we had the opportunity to respond to Biden’s empty words and deadly actions. Democratic Party primaries were held in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin. 59,000 people joined the Uncommitted Voter/Ceasefire Now movement bringing the total to over 366,000.** The number will grow when New York’s blank ballots are counted and after the 10 remaining primaries.
The Democrats hear our demands but they are not listening. Biden has the nomination and is heading for the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, August 19-22. The Uncommitted Voter/Ceasefire Now movement is also headed for Chicago and the DNC. The stage is set.
Will uncommitted votes compel Biden to call for a total ceasefire and to stop funding the state-sanctioned terrorism by Israel? Probably not.
The Uncommitted Voter/Ceasefire Now movement shows us that the solution does not lie within the Democratic Party. We need a new party and actual political power. We need politicians that fight for their class interests, meet the basic needs of people, and stop the systematic destruction of Palestinians.
We want real solutions, peace and justice.
