Can it Happen Here?
Why the USA Fascist Threat
is Dangerous
What is Fascism: Our current “democracy” is bribery, corruption, and fraud, backed up by police violence and terror. Fascism is police violence and terror, backed up by bribery, corruption, and fraud.
Trump is a Front for Fascism: At a 2023 Veterans Day speech in Florida, Trump called out his political opponents with Hitler-style fascist language: “…vermin within the confines of our country that lie and steal and cheat on elections.”1 Trump, like Hitler, is simply the product of and the front for a much larger movement of capitalist domination. While the media concentrates on Trump, the Heritage Foundation and similar groups are hidden in the background moving to make Project 2025 a reality.
Political Violence Reminiscent of the Jim Crow Era: Trump’s language deliberately invites political violence reminiscent of the Jim Crow era. Is Trump spouting nonsense or is fascism a real possibility?
Why the Threat of Fascism is Real:
The Fascists are Prepared: The political ground for one-party rule has been prepared at the state government level. In 23 out of 50 states Republicans control the governor’s mansion and both state houses. This presents a hospitable environment for Trump and his allies to attempt to steal the election just as they attempted in the 2020 election. 2,3
The Largest Banks and Corporations are on Board: The 2007 – 2009 international financial meltdown and subsequent bank bailout demonstrates that capitalism cannot survive without massive amounts of public money. We pay taxes for health care, schools, and environmental clean-up. But fascism protects the largest banks and corporations at the expense of the people’s needs. Trump preaches this to his coterie of billionaire supporters.4
Jim Crow Era Fascism: After the Civil War, ruling class interests in both the North and South decided to sustain Southern agricultural production with cheap labor. To make this happen the fascist Jim Crow system was instituted. Jim Crow took the lives of more than 3,000 people, primarily by way of lynching Black agricultural workers. It was dismantled only after the industrialization of Southern agriculture made Jim Crow technologically obsolete.5
It Happened Once Before: Fascism already happened once before in America and will happen again unless we, the working class, rise up and stop it. Today robots and electronically controlled production have made the majority of the working class technologically obsolete. Now is the time to capture state power and turn the means of production toward creating the things that we must have to survive and flourish. All of us who must work to live need the political power to secure a real future!

“Our country and the world stand at a crossroads. Humanity has the potential for economic security and abundance. A community of the people, by the people, and for the people, where children can grow in peace, is possible as never before. Or–if we do nothing—we face increasingly unlivable conditions caused by private ownership of the wealth that human labor has created. The purpose of the League of Revolutionaries for a New America is to build consciousness and unity among the most impacted workers, to be able to secure the needs of humanity, and avoid the destitution and environmental disaster threatening life on our planet as we know it.”
