George Orwell Redux
- Opposing genocide is criminalized while supporting genocide is Government’s business.
- Settler-colonialist apartheid is called democracy.
- The Department of Defense is actually the Department of War.
- The war on terror has become a war on humanity.
The Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizen’s United decision says that money is speech and corporations are people. Corporations now have far more legal rights than real people.
Those without money therefore have less “Freedom of Speech” than the capitalist 1% who own over 50% of everything. It is unsurprising, that billionaires can publicly threaten judges, juries, and their families. They tell us to hate each other instead of uniting together to secure the human necessities we all need together.
Supreme Court
An unelected Supreme Court has removed Constitutional protections for abortion in defiance of what over 70% of Americans want. Plus… the majority, who were appointed by Republican Presidents who lost the popular vote, have maneuvered so that Trump’s trial over the January 6 insurrection will not take place until after the election… if at all.
Political Power
This is what political power looks like today, straight out of George Orwell’s satirical work “1984.” The practical question facing us all is how to win the political power we need to guarantee our basic needs as human beings. The reality is that we confront the naked rule of corporate dictatorship. This power is based in the legalities that require the private ownership of the tools and technology that we all need.
How can we fight and win?
- In the practical struggle, people are uniting from below. The growing equality of misery is forming them into a social force. We rely on this developing practical unity to build conscious political understanding. Victory cannot be won until we gain the political power necessary to defeat fascism and organize the cooperative society we need.
- Human beings have proven that they can survive the barbarism of slavery, famine, and world wars, and build a better world out of destruction. History has given the present generation a great mission: to save the world for the future of life on earth.
