USA Closer to Fascism

Can It Happen Here?

The corporate media proclaimed Trump the winner of the June 27 Presidential debate. The media moguls told us that Trump’s outlandish lies “steamrolled” Biden whose verbal missteps were embarrassing and “incoherent.”1, 2 Indeed, Biden’s performance raises questions about whether he is fit to govern, and why the Democrats would seek to re-elect an incoherent candidate.

For those of us who must work for a living, the November election raises questions.

What kind of life will we have? We live with depressed wages, skyrocketing housing costs, poor medical care, police harassment, and environmental destruction. Trump doesn’t care, he serves the super-rich. Biden doesn’t care as the poverty rate has doubled while the stock market hit a record high. During the debate, when asked about the outrageous cost of childcare, Trump and Biden discussed their golf game. They have no answers and do not care.

Will there be war or peace? Both candidates support the Israeli genocide in Gaza and Israel’s increasing attacks on Lebanon. Biden urges a ceasefire in Gaza while continuing to supply the weapons that make a ceasefire less likely. Trump is even more willing to do what Netanyahu wants. Biden and Trump stand for more war, more death and more destruction.

Will we save the environment? Trump openly supports fossil fuel corporate profits, the end to climate regulations, and the rape of the environment. Biden weeps about the environment while issuing more oil and gas drilling permits than Trump. During the debate, Trump and Biden told us that they had cleaned up our water. But ten years after the poisoning of their water, the people of Flint, Michigan are still suffering serious health issues and waiting for justice.

What’s the difference?

One candidate wants civil war; the other wants World War III.

One candidate wants to replace the rule of law with armed vigilante militias; the other promises to keep improving the US system of mass incarceration and surveillance.

One candidate weaponizes our grievances and tells us to take them out on people who are not much better off; the other tells us that we don’t have any grievances at all.

What can we do? The Democratic and Republican parties, as evident in the Trump and Biden candidacies, prioritize the interests of the corporations at the expense of us, the workers. The corporate leadership knows that workers are rising to resist their political direction, and have begun to establish a fascist state ruled by corporate dictatorship using Project 2025. Trump is the front man for Project 2025 and Biden is the fall guy.

The only successful way to stop this nightmare is to impose majority rule by the working class, all of us who must work to survive. We have a world to win, and the science and technology to create a peaceful, sustainable world for all and for future generations.

We have a program for a peaceful, sustainable world, let’s talk.

Let’s talk.     Contact us at ……. https://lrna.org/contact-us/

“Our country and the world stand at a crossroads. Humanity has the potential for economic security and abundance. A community of the people, by the people, and for the people, where children can grow in peace, is possible as never before. Or–if we do nothing—we face increasingly unlivable conditions caused by private ownership of the wealth that human labor has created. The purpose of the League of Revolutionaries for a New America is to build consciousness and unity among the most impacted workers, to be able to secure the needs of humanity, and avoid the destitution and environmental disaster threatening life on our planet as we know it.”
