A Step Towards Peace and Justice
February 28, 2024: Yesterday, over 100,000 people in Michigan voted “Uncommitted” in the Democratic Presidential Primary. These votes have been framed as a message to Biden” to end the genocidal war in Gaza.
The Biden campaign acknowledged the magnitude of the protest vote, saying that “they will work hard to earn every vote and that the president is working tirelessly for peace in Gaza.” But our government has made no move to stop the war, vetoing 3 UN ceasefire resolutions and vowing to continue military aid to Israel. Biden’s public statement that Israeli attacks are “over the top” represents a criticism of how Israel is carrying out the war, not Israel’s plan to eliminate Palestine and its people. Biden and the US refuse to end the genocide, because
“The issue of Palestine is central to the political control of West Asia and the global control of petroleum and trade routes. The uncommitted vote is also a message to revolutionaries.
“From the right and from the left, the people are becoming more disgusted with and distrustful of the government. All the elements of a social upheaval are moving into place.”

We are witnessing, as we did with COVID, the open murderous intent of a system that has offered us nothing but war, collapse, climate disaster, pandemics, and total ecological destruction. This is the capitalist system in collapse.
