Is the US the “land of the free and the home of the brave”? Or is it the world’s largest mass incarceration of the poor, while billionaires blatantly defy the law?
Can ordinary people walk into a courtroom, like Donald Trump, and accuse the judge of being a fool? Good Luck!
What happens when Trump cannot pay his $545 million legal fine? The court reduces it 68% to $175 million. Then suddenly Trump’s TRUTH Social website goes public and he makes $4.6 billion dollars on paper! Next billionaire hedge fund capitalist, John Paulson, rallies billionaires to cover his fine. Trump has mentioned that Paulson might be his Secretary of the Treasury!
We all know that when we cannot pay legal fines, the government throws us in jail, sometimes for years, without even a hearing. The official line is that “common” crimes committed by the powerless are a greater threat than the “white-collar” crimes of the powerful. Billionaires are billionaires because they own property. Crimes by property against people dwarf crimes of people against property. Not surprisingly – the capitalist system protects its own. It’s all perfectly legal!
The biggest billionaire crime this critical election year is that billionaires have organized to influence elections in every state and local area. They use dark money to attack local officials, push White Christian Nationalist issues, assault African-Americans, immigrants, abortion, LBGTQ+ folks, and every marginal community!
Billionaires are flooding money into our elections to hide the real issues of poverty, hunger, oppression, poor healthcare, environmental destruction, and war!
Revolutionaries today understand that we cannot look for solutions to the very system that causes these problems.
