Cornell University Student Body Votes for

Permanent Ceasefire in Gaza

Students Vote:

In a campus-wide referendum on April 22, students at Cornell voted by a 2 to 1 margin for a permanent Gaza ceasefire in Gaza and for university divestment from corporations that sell arms to Israel. Student Assembly President Patrick Kuehl stated that “the vote is a statement against the killing of civilians; against the structural situation that creates cyclical violence; and against the actions of the Israeli Government — not the people of Israel or the Jewish people.  We stand by the humanity and the right to exist of the Jewish and Muslim, Israeli and Palestinian people, and acknowledge that a structure of freedom, equality, and peace based on justice are ultimately to the benefit of all. It is essential, in the spirit of democracy, that we be able to criticize the actions of an institution without condemning the people it claims to represent, just as we must continue to be critical of the actions of our own governments and institutions, even as they claim to represent us.”

Project 2025:

President Kuehl’s words are prescient for our country is in the crosshairs of a mounting fascist threat against democracy. This threat has been published by the Heritage Foundation under the title “Project 2025, ‘Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise.

World to Win!

Now is the time to speak out against genocide in Gaza and for Freedom in the USA because we – those of us who must work for a living – are the Majority and have a World to Win!

Note: The watermelon is a symbol of the Free Palestine movement and its image and emoji is now widely seen on social media. The use of watermelon, which is the same colors as the Palestinian flag, became a protest symbol when flying the flag was banned by the Israeli government in 1967. The Poppy has long been seen in Palestinian art and is a symbol of resilience as it proliferates quickly and covers fields in the Palestinian spring.

Lets Talk !

“As people struggle to survive war, climate catastrophe, poverty, and pandemic, a new fascist state form is arising to crush us – the naked rule of corporate power.” ..” The battle is a class struggle because the ruling class is the enemy of humanity and the earth itself.”  from the League Program
