Robb Elementary School Shooting:

Gun control is a positive step but not the solution

Nineteen children and two adults were shot dead at the Robb Elementary School by an 18-year-old boy. The immediate response is to call for increased gun control, which is supported by 90% of the American people. This is a positive step towards stopping the flood of guns entering our society fueled by the $19 billion Guns and Ammunition industry and protected by the US Congress and Senate. We hate to paraphrase the NRA, but guns alone do not kill people, capitalism does. Capitalism robs our children of hope replaces it with despair as they face a future of a dying planet, poverty and no place in society.  Gun control is not enough. Our children deserve total/holistic care beginning with universal free health care, including mental health care, “quality” education beginning with early child care, preschool education and schools that teach hope and truth. We cannot limit our vision to gun control, but must join with our children to fight for a collaborative, peaceful, loving world that they will build. This is the only way to stop children shooting children.
